'Suspicious minds': in search of "al-Lah" ( the Islamic rock star )

Suspicious minds want answers. In an open and secular society, we are free to ask for them.

I find  it's a pleasant, and personally pleasing right  to possess.

The Arabic word for God or Deity can be found here

ʾIlāh (Arabic: إله‎; plural: آلهةʾālihah) is an Arabic term meaning "deity" or "god". The feminine is ʾilāhah (إلاهة, meaning "goddess");

It's proper usage can be found here in the Sahadah,  the Islamic profession of faith.

šahādah (the Muslim confession of faith) is, "there is no ʾilāh but al-Lāh", that is, translated, "there is no deity except for Allah" or "there is no god except for the [one] god".

If allah was in fact the Arabic word for  God, and not the propper name of a God, it should  read as

there is no 'allah' but 'allah' as opposed to there is no deity but 'allah'

allah seems to be the propper name of a god, and it is greater than other Gods or deities. Muslims state this regularly when they say 'allah- ackbar"'allah is greater, implying the god we (Muslims) worship is better than your (non-Muslim's) god

Bukhari :: Book 4 :: Volume 52 :: Hadith 195

Narrated Anas:

The Prophet set out for Khaibar and reached it at night. He used not to attack if he reached the people at night, till the day broke. So, when the day dawned, the Jews came out with their bags and spades. When they saw the Prophet; they said, "Muhammad and his army!" The Prophet said, Allahu--Akbar! (Allah is Greater)and Khaibar is ruined, for whenever we approach a nation (i.e. enemy to fight) then it will be a miserable morning for those who have been warned."

The god of Mohammad was a pagan concept, this is made clear as he attacked the Monotheistic Jews,  who disputed his concept of a Deity or G*d.

He responds that 'allah' is greater, it becomes obvious that Mohammad feels the Jews have a different concept of G*d, and his (Mohammad's) the 'allah concept  of a deity is superior than the Jewish concept.Mohammad is recorded to shout in the linked  hadith  'allah is greater" as he attempted to force his concept of G*d on to the Jewish people of Khaibar. Mohammad does not shout Allah is Yahweh, Elohim or Jehovah. He shouts, 'allah akbar (Allah is Greater) and  he is establishing the superiority of 'allah' over the Jewish concept of G*d. The Jews would not "submit" to Mohammad's assertion, so they were killed.

If you go to an Islamic site and look  up the name of Mohammad's father, who was in fact a pagan,( there was no Mohammad yet, so there could have been no Islam, when Mohammad's grandfather Named his son )

Can we can learn something from the meaning, or from the translation of his name "Abdullah".'

Abdullah (the slave of Allah)

Since Mohammad's dad was a pagan of the Quraysh tribe, he must have worshiped one, or more, of the many "rock idols" worshipped at Mecca, and housed in a building called the kabba (a pagan temple) Mohammad's dad was a slave ( devotee or servant)  to one of the pagan gods named  "allah".

In ancient Arabia, the deity of each tribe was respected according to the social status of that tribe. When the Quraysh clan ( Mohammad's) became the prominent one in Mecca, their rock, or stone idol, allah, was elevated, or moved up the ladder, to a supreme position in the Kaaba.

Mohammad only expanded the concept in a grander, world wide scale, when he conquered Mecca, then all of Arabia.

The Kaaba marked the location where the sacred world intersected with the profane, and the embedded Black Stone was a further symbol of this as an object that linked heaven and earth.[11]

Muhammad is credited with setting the Black Stone in place in the wall of the Kaaba. A story found in Ibn Ishaq's Sirah Rasul Allah tells how the clans of Mecca renovated the Kaaba following a major fire which had partly destroyed the structure. The Black Stone had been temporarily removed to facilitate the rebuilding work. The clans could not agree on which one of them should have the honour of setting the Black Stone back in its place.

The black stone (allah) was the most honored idol at this time.it was the only stone (rock) idol honoured in such a way.

They decided to wait for the next man to come through the gate and ask him to make the decision. That individual happened to be the 35-year-old Muhammad, five years before his prophethood.

before Mohammad became a prophet, the black stone was a rock, worshiped by pagan Arabs living in Mecca.

He asked the elders of the clans to bring him a cloth and put the Black Stone in its centre. Each of the clan leaders held the corners of the cloth and carried the Black Stone to the right spot. Then Muhammad himself set the stone in place, satisfying the honour of all of the clans.[12]

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Stone

This particular idol, or stone was at this time (five years before the first revelation of Mohammad) once only the "lowly" tribal god of the Quraysh, and he or it ('allah') had three specific daughters at that time. The names of "al-Lah's" daughters can be found in the Quran.

al- Uzza, al-Lat, and al-Manat. 53:19-20

some pre-Islamic pagan traditions claim, Al-Lat as the companion, or wife of al-Lah (allah) not a daughter.

HAVE YOU, then, ever considered [what you are worshipping in] Al-Lat and Al-Uzza, (53:19)

as well as [in] Manat, the third and last [of this triad]? (53:20)

When Muhammad and his "Ummah" (theocratic Islamic community) started to cause too much trouble, eighty or so of his followers who had no protection, emigrated from Mecca to Ethiopia, or as it was known then, the Christian country of Abyssinia. Under increasing boycotts and pressure, Muhammad experienced  a time of weakness and  found himself forced by an unfurtunate  societal-economic   circumstance, to compromise with the Meccan pagans by acknowledging the existence of three pagan goddesses alongside allah, known as, al-Lat,al- Uzza, and al- Manat.

This is the start of the famous" The satanic verses."

this is truthful, as an Islamic source of this claim of mine, can be found here.

How the Shaytan threw some Falsehood into the Words of the Messengers, and how Allah abolished ...

At this point many of the scholars of Tafsir mentioned the story of the Gharaniq and how many of those who had migrated to Ethiopia came back when they thought that the idolators of the Quraysh had become Muslims, but these reports all come through Mursal chains of narrationand I do not think that any of them may be regarded as Sahih. And Allah knows best. Al-Bukhari said, "Ibn`Abbas said,

I admit it's not sahih, I highlighted it

﴿فِى أُمْنِيَّتِهِ﴾I

(in his recitation (of the revelation).) "When he spoke, the Shaytan threw (some falsehood) into his speech, but Allah abolished that which the Shaytan threw in.''

﴿ثُمَّ يُحْكِمُ اللَّهُ ءَايَـتِهِ﴾

(Then Allah establishes His revelations.) `Ali bin AbiTalhah reported that Ibn`Abbas said,

﴿إِذَا تَمَنَّى أَلْقَى الشَّيْطَـنُ فِى أُمْنِيَّتِهِ﴾

(when he did recite (the revelation), Shaytan threw (some falsehood) in it) "When he spoke, the Shaytan threw (some falsehood) into his speech.''Mujahid said:

﴿إِذَا تُمْنَى﴾

(when he did recite) "When he spoke.'' It was said that it refers to his recitation, whereas,

﴿إِلاَّ أَمَانِىَّ﴾

(but they trust upon Amani) means they speak but they do not write. Al-Baghawi and the majority of the scholars of Tafsir said:

﴿تَمَنَّى﴾

(he did recite) "Reciting the Book of Allah.''

﴿أَلْقَى الشَّيْطَـنُ فِى أُمْنِيَّتِهِ﴾

(Shaytan threw (some falsehood) in it) "In his recitation.'' Ad-Dahhak said:

﴿إِذَا تُمْنَى﴾

(when he did recite) "When he recited.''IbnJarir said, "This comment is more akin to interpretation.''

﴿فَيَنسَخُ اللَّهُ مَا يُلْقِى الشَّيْطَـنُ﴾

(But Yansakh Allah that which Shaytan throws in.) The meaning of the word Naskh in Arabic is to remove or lift away. `Ali bin AbiTalhah reported that Ibn`Abbas said, "This means, Allah cancels out that which the Shaytan throws in.''

see, the word Naskh or abrogation

Now this is from an Islamic site attempting to prove 'allah' is not rock

Yet, the prayer postures, as well as the circling around the Ka’bah coupled with kissing, both form the outward shell of the chaff, which preserves the grain. The grain of the Tawaf lies in the lofty meanings of the Pilgrim’s recitation and prayers, in the soul-stirring emotions surging in his heart -

such as his extreme love for Allah, his awe of Him, and his high hopes in Him. Examine, for instance, the words brimful of God's oneness, which the pilgrim utters. It is his regular formula, at the start of each round of the Tawaf, as he kisses, caresses, or points at the Black Stone, declaring: "(I begin) in the Name of Allah who is Most Great. O Allah! (I perform) believing in thee,

said while pointing at a black rock, or stone, referred to as "allah"

'allah' would seem to be a "object of worship" Muslims worship only one g*d. What do they call it ?

confirming Thy Book, fulfilling Thy Pledge, and following the Way of Thy Prophet, Muhammad - Blessing and peace upon him!"

"allah". from the encyclopedia of Islam

Some researchers have tied Allah to the moon-god of pagan Arabs before the advent of Islam which is most probably incorrect. However, one concensus is clear: the name "Allah" is not unfamiliar with the Arabs. The following is a list of statements of very uneven authority.

* Attributes of Allah include existence without a body, without beginning, without end, self-subsistence, non-resemblance to anything in creation, oneness, life without food, spirit, body, air and blood, will (predestination), power, knowledge, hearing without ears, or or organ, seeing without eyes, light or organ, al-Kalam (speech without sounds, letters and languages). Allah is not attributed with color, brightness, spirit, image, body, dimensions, rest, motion, gender, relationship (son, wife, sister, brother, children). He is the only creator and no creates except him. Creator of everything, including evil, good, nature. Everything other than Allah is created.

* ``The name of Allah, as the Quran itself is witness, was well known in pre-Islamic Arabia. Indeed, both it and its feminine form 'Allat', are found not infrequently among the theophorous names in inscriptions from North Arabia.'' (Arthur Jeffery, Islam: Muhammed and his religion, p 85).

* ``'Allah' is a proper name, applicable only to their [Arabs] peculiar god. (Hastings, Encyclopedia of Religion and Ethics, I.326).

* ``'Allah' is a pre-Islamic name...corresponding to the Babylonian Bel.'' (Paul Meagher,Thomas O' Brein, in ERE, I.117).

* ``The Arabs, before the time of Muhammed accepted and worshipped, after a fashion, a supreme god called 'Allah'. (Encyclopaedia of Islam, I.302).

* "The name of 'Allah' is also evident in archeological and literary remains of pre-Islamic Arabia". (Kenneth Cragg, The Call of the Minaret, p. 31).

* 'Allah' was known to the pre-Islamic Arabs and it was one of the Meccan deities. (H. Gibb, Encyclopedia of Islam, I.46).

* "The name of Allah goes back before Muhammed." (Anthony Mercatante, The Facts on Index, Encyclopedia of World Mythology and Legend, I.41)

* "There is no reason, therefore, to accept that Allah passed to the Muslims from the Jews and Christians." (Caesar Farah, Islam : Beliefs and Observations, p. 28).

* In Arabia, the sun god was viewed as a female goddess and the moon as the male god. One of the moon god's name was called Allah. (Alfred Guilluame, Islam, p. 7.)

* Allah, the moon god was married to the sun goddess. Together they produce the three goddess (the daughters of Allah), Al-Lat, Al-Uzza and Manat. All of these 'gods' were viewed as being the top of the pantheon of Arab deities. (Encyclopedia of World Mythology and Legend, I.61).

* Ahmad Deedat, a Muslim apologist, contends that the Bible contains the name Allah. He refers to a footnote in the Scoffield Bible where it says that the Hebrew word for God, Elohim is derived from "El" (strength) and "Alah" (to swear). (God).

It was in common use before the time of Muhammad. His father was Abdullah, meaning "abd" (servant) of Allah

Quite interesting. I am aware of some of the connections that Christianity has to Paganism; the connection between islam and it's Pagan history is news to me though. It appears from the WIKI source that the black stone is still a revered relic in islam as well. I wonder how widely accepted that history is in the islamic world.

The ignorance in the Muslim world, as well as Islam's teaching makes it impossible for Muslims to realize these facts and to think abut it.

They don't even realize that Muhammad's fathers' name is a very clear indication that the name Allah preceded Islam.

Trust me when I say this (I'm a pagan) European pagan's adopted Christianity between 300 and 400 (AD) and kept some pagan traditions.

The only thing Mohammad's grandfather would notice that had changed, was nakedness was not allowed at the kabba.

other that that, the rituals practiced by the pagan Grandfather who named Mohammad's father are all but indistinguishable from the modern Islamic practice of worship.

only now 'allah' is the only resident in the Kabba. All competing Deity's were destroyed, leaving the Deity worshiped by Mohammad Grandfather (the slave of allah) as master of the house (the kabba)

Prayers (Salat)

Bukhari :: Book 1 :: Volume 8 :: Hadith 365

Narrated Abu Huraira:

On the Day of Nahr (10th of Dhul-Hijja, in the year prior to the last Hajj of the Prophet when Abu Bakr was the leader of the pilgrims in that Hajj) Abu Bakrsentme along with other announcers to Mina to make a public announcement: "No pagan is allowed to perform Hajj after this year and no naked person is allowed to perform the Tawaf around the Ka'ba. Then Allah's Apostle sent 'All to read out the Surat Bara'a (At-Tauba) to the people; so he made the announcement along with us on the day of Nahr in Mina: "No pagan is allowed to perform Hajj after this year and no naked person is allowed to perform the Tawaf around the Ka'ba."

Now I can not say for sure, I have no way of knowing about Mohammad's father, he could have worshiped any god he choose. but the grandfather the one who named Mohammad's father (slave of allah) he would have kissed the stone he was named after. (it was the Arab pagan thing to do at the time.)

did Mohammad worship "allah" as did his grandfather ?

did Mohammad kiss a pagan idol ?

did he stop others from worshiping a deity the same way, just like his pagan grandfather did ?

Pilgrimmage (Hajj)

Bukhari :: Book 2 :: Volume 26 :: Hadith 667

Narrated 'Abis bin Rabia:

'Umar came near the Black Stone and kissed it and said "No doubt, I know that you are a stone and can neither benefit anyone nor harm anyone. Had I not seen Allah's Apostle kissing you I would not have kissed you."

He would not have kissed it, because it was a pagan idol, that had been in the Kabba and worshiped long before Mohammad became a prophet.

The ignorance in the Muslim world, as well as Islam's teaching makes it impossible for Muslims to realize these facts and to think abut it.

Education and knowledge is the key; The thing is that for anyone to learn something new, they must first admit the possibility that they don't know everything and might be wrong. This is hard enough as is for some, but the added burden of religious indoctrination with no education makes it nearly impossible.

Wow, ok. So basically, islam "converted" pagans with one major theological change being no longer polytheistic, but monotheistic.

Yes, there were 360 stone idols in the Kabba. 'al-lah' was the Deity of Mohammad's clan. His uncle was in charge of the Kabba, when Mohammad was young. pre-Mohammad the pagan's of the Arabian peninsula went on Hajj, circled the Kabba seven time, ran between the two Mountains and shaved their heads.

the Jews living near him, new that he, or what he preached, had nothing to do with Judaism, they had seen Arabs doing that Hajj or pilgrimage to Mekka for generations. the Kabba was in no way the "house of their lord" Think about that for a minute, if you were a Jew living there and saw this unfold with your eyes what would you do ...Mock him ?

thats what they did, and it cost them their lives.

Merits of the Helpers in Madinah (Ansaar)

Bukhari :: Book 5 :: Volume 58 :: Hadith 172

Narrated 'Aisha:

'Ashura' (i.e. the tenth of Muharram) was a day on which the tribe of Quraish used to fast in the pre-lslamic period of ignorance.

So why would Mohammad do that.

The Prophet also used to fast on this day.

as any good pagan would do,honoring the religion of their forefathers (one of whom was a slave of allah)

So when he migrated to Medina, he fasted on it and ordered (the Muslims) to fast on it. When the fasting of Ramadan was enjoined, it became optional for the people to fast or not to fast on the day of Ashura

His uncle was in charge of the Kabba, when Mohammad was young

is incorrect.

it was his Great grandfather (not Mohammad's Uncle) that was in charge of the Kabba.

it was a profitable business, then as it is now.

from the encyclopedia of Islam

ABDULLAH

youngest son of

Abdul Muttalib, husbad of Aminah and father of Muhammad, whose name means Abd (slave or servant) of Allah (God). His name also showed that the name Allah was well-known among the Arabs before the Muhammad. In fact, Muhammad's great grandfather was custodian of the Ka'aba. During Aminah's pregnancy, he went on a merchant trip to Gaza, Palestine and on his return, became ill and died at al-Madinah.

an interesting occurrence can be found here

from the encyclopedia of Islam

ABDULLAH IBN SA`D

is one of Muhammad's secretary.

It is related that, when Muhammad instructed Abdullah to write down the words (Surah xxiii.12-14) "..." Abdullah exclaimed, "And blessed be God, the best of creators"; and Muhammad told him to write that down also. Whereupon Abdullah

Arabia had many Abdullah's (slaves of allah) well before Mohmmad's prophethood.

boasted that he had been inspired with a sentence which the Prophet had acknowledged to be part of the Qur'an. It is of him that is written in the Qur'an, Surah vi.93, "..." (Hughes's Dictionary, p.2)

This incident of course casts doubt on the inspiration of the Qur'an, that if Muhammad should add to the words given.

Pilgrimmage (Hajj)

Bukhari :: Book 2 :: Volume 26 :: Hadith 710

Narrated 'Asim:

I asked Anas bin Malik: "Did you use to dislike to perform Tawaf between Safa and Marwa?" He said, "Yes, as it was of the ceremonies of the days of the Pre-lslamic period of ignorance,

You would assume that Mohammad would do away with such things as they were from the Pre-lslamic period of ignorance, and were therefore pagan practices, directed to false gods, really not related with monotheism.

till Allah revealed: 'Verily!

Oh no, go right ahead

(The two mountains) As-Safa and Al-Marwa are among the symbols of Allah. It is therefore no sin for him who performs the pilgrimage to the Ka'ba, or performs 'Umra, to perform Tawaf between them.' " (2.158)

this most be some of the things Jews, and christian, "corrupted "from the Bible (LOL) Because all prophets preached Islam ?

More than a month after their arrest, they remain in Jeddah’s Briman prison. One of the prisoners spoke to International Christian Concern (ICC), the nondenominational human-rights group that first broke the story about the arrest: “A high-ranking security official insulted us, saying, ‘You are non-believers and animals.’

any one, not recognizing and worshiping that little black stone as a deity, striving to touch it, or kiss it, is a non-beliver.

Christians on the other hand keep to a concept of G*d as described by Jesus, who was a monotheistic Jew.

He also said, ‘You are pro-Jews and supporters of America.’ We then responded, ‘We love everyone. Our God tells us to love everyone.’”

The god, deity, or object of worship recognized in Saudi Arabia does not. This most be clear to every thinking human on the planet earth.

On February 7, Saudi officials ushered a Muslim preacher into their jail cell. A woman prisoner described what happened in a phone interview with ICC: “The Muslim preacher vilified Christianity,

Christian worship the wrong G*d.

denigrated the Bible,

It not the "book of allah" and Mohammad.

and told us that Islam is the only true religion.

and allah the only "real" god ? (LOL)

The preacher told us to convert to Islam.

worship allah

When the preacher asked us, we didn’t deny our Christian faith. I was so offended with her false teachings that I left the meeting.”

Of Saudi Arabia’s 6 or 7 million foreign workers, 1 million or more are Christians. Some of them have resided there for 30 years, but they are prohibited from having churches.

Churches would offend the sensibilities of the deity housed in the Kabba, and 'allah' angers easily.

The Pagan Arabs could plainly see what was going on.Out of all the hundreds of idols in the Kabba, only one was going to surive.

What gave Mohammad the right to do something like that. Well a man has no such right to do things like that. So allah revealed this little ditty. (quran 21:58)

Allah (mohammad) claimed all prophets preach Islam right ? So Mohammad, took a biblical story and perverted it, to suit his own nefarious ends

I remember vaguely something like that in the bible, but I'm pretty sure Abraham never worshiped an idol, and never told the Jewish people to do such a thing. If anybody knows what part of the bible that's in, I would like a link if you can.

Had Abraham done so, Judaism would not be presently like it is, or historically as it was.

And then he broke those [idols] to pieces, [all] save the biggest of them, so that they might [be able to] turn to it.

Turn to the one (allah), and acknowledge an idol as a deity ?

It means he destroyed all of them except for their greater

But that's not true. there is still one stone idol left in the Kabba, isn't there ?

The Prophet, after confirming all the reports of the attack and subsequent events, marched to Makkah with an army consisting of three thousand Muslims of Medinah and Muslims from other Arab communities that joined him on the way totaling ten thousand Muslims. Before entering the city he sent word to citizens of Makkah that anyone who remained in his home, or in Abu Sufyan’s home, or in the Ka’bah would be safe.

The army entered Makkah without fighting and the Prophet went directly to the Ka’bah.

He magnified Allah

who at this time is a rock, in the Kabba

for the triumphant entry in the Holy city. The Prophet pointed at each idol with a stick he had in his hand and said, "Truth has come and Falsehood will neither start nor will it reappear" [Qur'an 17:81]. And one by one the idols fell down. The Ka’bah was then cleansed by the removal of all three hundred sixty idols,

359, one remains, what was it called the day before Mohammad entered Mekka ?

and it was restored to its pristine status for the worship of One True God (as built by Prophets Ibrahim and Ismail).

I read that Mohammad destroyed all the pagan symbols of idolatry, but one remains ?

Doesn't it ?

If you are referring to the Blackstone, somehow it is not an idle in the eyes of Muslims. Somehow they see that the Blackstone has nothing to do with idles. They only see it as a stone that came to Earth from heaven.

If you are referring to the Blackstone,

yes

somehow it is is not an idle in the eyes of Muslims.

But it surely was to the pagan Arabs. Mohammad's grandfather named his son after it.

It is the exact same stone, all it did was go from being the "deity" of Mohammad's tribe to the "lord" of the world and everybody in it. According to Islamic tradition

If you destroy all pagan idols but one, and elevate that stone idol, to the status of supreme being and creator of the universe. Haven't all you did, was just made a formally pagan idol, a "real" G*d ?.

And could that god (idol), not still be a pagan god ,only with a much better publicist. or propagandist's willing to use violence to make others "submit" to a common misconception or the delusion, beneficial to a new ideology ?

And that ideology, is making others submit to the idea that a stone fell from heaven, was a pagan idol for centuries, was mistakenly worshiped by pagans, but was really nothing at all.

If so, why would it still have a prominent place in the house of allah ?

Why would modern Muslims preform the same ritualised practice's as their pagan ancestors did before "allah" told Mohammad, he was really god ? and to reject idolatry

Why would a reall G*d, want to be worshiped in the exact same manner as a pagan idol was ?

That's just crazy @!$%# ! (LOL)

brainwashed to the degree that they are not able to see your logic in this issue

I am trying to sort out the misconceptions.

However, they were still weary about bringing down the Ka`bah. Al-Walid bin Al-Mughirah said, `I will start to bring it down.' He held an ax and stood by the Ka`bah and said, `O Allah!

The Kabba is the house of the Pagan Deitys or gods , and here the greater one, it's called "allah" in this instance. it's "Akbar" or greater than the other idols.

No harm is meant. O Allah! We only seek to do a good service.'

At this particular time in history, Mohammad is not yet the prophet of Islam, he and everybody else living in Mekka are pagans, who only know of pagan gods. There has yet to have been a "revelation" claimed by Mohammad, it will not come for another five years. And we see, Al-Walid bin Al-Mughirah, begging 'allah's' forgiveness, because he is about to strike the house of 'allah' with an ax, and does not want to anger 'allah', who at this time, is a pagan deity. The Kabba is still now, the house of 'allah', and the black stone is still residing there.

He then started to chop the House's stones. The people waited that night and said, `We will wait and see. If something strikes him, we will not bring it down and instead rebuid it the way it was.

If nothing happens to him, then Allah will have agreed to what we are doing.'

'allah' is the "top stone" the big dog, head honcho, main man," Allah is "Akbar" or Greater than, the other idols

we find no mention of the other 359 idols housed within the walls of the Kabba.

The next morning, Al-Walid went to work on the Ka`bah, and the people started bringing the Ka`bah down with him. When they reached the foundations that Ibrahim built, they uncovered green stones that were above each other, just like a pile of spears.''IbnIshaq then said that some people told him, "A man from Quraysh, who was helping rebuild the Ka`bah, placed the shovel between two of these stones to pull them up; when one of the stones was moved, all of Makkah shook, so they did not dig up these stones.''

http://www.qtafsir.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=305 (click next to turn the page)

IbnIshaq said, "The tribes of Quraysh collected stones to rebuild the House, each tribe collecting on their own. They started rebuilding it, until the rebuilding of the Ka`bah reached the point where the Black Stone was to be placed in its designated site.

The corner of the Kabba (where it can be found today)

A dispute erupted between the various tribes of Quraysh, each seeking the honor of placing the Black Stone for their own tribe.

Mohammad, is from a clan of the Quraysh tribe, the highest deity of the tribe is clearly a black stone. This black stone is a pagan Deity.

The dispute almost led to violence between the leaders of Quraysh in the area of the Sacred House. Banu`Abd Ad-Dar and Banu`Adi bin Ka`b bin Lu'ay, gave their mutual pledge to fight until death.

fighting to the death over the honor (supremacy ) of a black stone, is still on going in the contemporary world today. Open a newspaper.

However, five or four days later, Abu Umayyah bin Al-Mughirah bin `Abdullah bin `Amr bin Makhzum, the oldest man from Quraysh then intervened at the right moment. AbuUmayyah suggested that Quraysh should appoint the first man to enter the House from its entrance to be a mediator between them. They agreed.

The Messenger - Muhammad - was the first person to enter the House. When the various leaders of Quraysh realized who the first one was, they all proclaimed, `This is Al-Amin (the Honest one). We all accept him; This is Muhammad.' When the Prophet reached the area where the leaders were gathering and they informed him about their dispute, he asked them to bring a garment and place it on the ground. He placed the Black Stone on it.

Mohammad shows great reverence to the stone, and treats it with respect, the black stone is an object of worship. It most have been a great honor to be "in-trusted" with the placement of his family's scared idol. The black stone was the most revered object of worship at this time and place. Mekka, 5 years before Mohammad became a prophet.

He then requested that each of the leaders of Quraysh hold the garment from one side and all participate in lifting the Black Stone, moving it to its designated area. Next, the Prophet carried the Black Stone by himself and placed it in its designated position and built around it. The Quraysh used to call the Messenger of Allah `Al-Amin' even before the revelation came to him.''

Al-Amin. trustworthy in Arabic, Mohammad was "in trusted" with the well being of the black stone, making sure no harm came to it. He was certainly the man for the job, as now the black stone is still the main (only) attraction in the Kabba, the "lowly" tribal deity of the Quraysh tribe, is now what Mohammad wanted, it's the only idol worshiped in the Kabba. The "jinn" of his pagan father most have been so proud, after all, his name was slave of allah (Abdullah)

The undeniable truth we find in this fafsir, is that in Mekka, before the "real god" revealed itself. The Kabba was the home of many idols, but there was one idol ( the black stone) considered by the Mekkian pagans as, Greater, than the other idols (allah-Akbar) "allah" was Greater, and is now still, Greater.

.this is from an Islamic chat room

The Mushrik

pagans

did believe in Allah and invoke him in time of difficulies

“And when a wave covers them like shades (i.e. like clouds or the mountains of seawater), they invoke Allah, making their invocations for Him only. But when He brings them safe to land, there are among them those that stop in the middle, between (Belief and disbelief). But none denies Our Signs except every perfidious ungrateful”. ( 32:31)

They

the pagan Arabs

believed Allah was the only creator, Razaq, Mudabir

“Say "In Whose Hand is the sovereignty of everything (i.e. treasures of each and everything)? And He protects (all), while against Whom there is no protector, (i.e. if Allah saves anyone none can punish or harm him, and if Allah punishes or harms anyone none can save him), if you know."

“They will say: "(All that belongs) to Allah." Say: "How then are you deceived and turn away from the truth?" ( 88-89: 23)

“And if you ask them who created them, they will surely say: "Allah". How then are they turned away (from the worship of Allah, Who created them)?” ( 87 : 43)

So their shirk was that they were taking idols from saints, stones and others and invoke them, when they were in difficulty they only invoked Allah, then made shirk and invoked some intercessors

Who can deny that Abu Jahl was invoking Allah to decide in Badr that the false one might be killed, and he was killed.

So Mushrik belived in Allah has the all mighty, and they belived he has given powers to others.

What is the bralwi answer ?

Do you deny Lat was a saint ?

satanic verses

Do you deny that Suwaa, nasr and othetrs where saints ?

Do you deny that Mushrik were taking idols ase intremediate to get close to Allah, but where believing that Allah is the only Cretor and the all Mighty

May Allah make us undertsand Tawhid

Since I wrote about the satanic verses here,I would like to remember Salmon Rushdie. Who is still living with a sentence of death over his head.

I would like to remind everybody as well that Cat Stevens (Mr peace train himself) supported the death penalty for Mr Rushdie, for exercising his freedom of speech.

the video of the shame full incident can be seen here.http://youtu.be/mYnWtPytvhI

intellectual freedom is a necessary component in a "free" society, all challenges must be met with a firm resolve.

We,did not give enough support then, so we now have things like Molly Norris.

The gifted artist is alive and well, thankfully. But on the insistence of top security specialists at the FBI, she is, as they put it, "going ghost": moving, changing her name, and essentially wiping away her identity. She will no longer be publishing cartoons in our paper or in City Arts magazine, where she has been a regular contributor. She is, in effect, being put into a witness-protection program—except, as she notes, without the government picking up the tab. It's all because of the appalling fatwa issued against her this summer, following her infamous "Everybody Draw Mohammed Day" cartoon.

Great. So Top security specialists with the Feds think that the best way to protect Americans and their freedom of expression, is by hiding them rather than going after the criminals wanting to kill her. What will they do if there are a hundred "Mollys" that offend islam? What about a thousand? A hundred-thousand, a million!?

So absurd it's beyond ridiculous.

So absurd it's beyond ridiculous.

Yes,and so is this.

This is from a site pantheon, that just list gods, goddess, and myths from history.

Al-Uzza

The youngest of the three daughters of the pre-Islamic Allah and the patron goddess of Mecca. She is identified with Venus as the morning star and her name means "the mighty one". She resides in a tree similar to the acacia.

http://www.pantheon.org/articles/u/uzza.html

Manat

The ancient Arabian goddess of fate and destiny, and the personification of the evening star. Manat ("fate") is one of the daughters of the pre-Islamic Allah. Her cult was situated between Medina and Mecca, where she was worshipped in the form of a black stone.

http://www.pantheon.org/articles/m/manat.html

a-llat

An ancient mother and fertility goddess of the pre-Islamic Arabs. Her name means "the Goddess". This mythic figure of great antiquity is one (she represented the earth and its fruits) of the trinity of desert goddesses named in the Qur'an; Al-Uzza (goddess of the morning star) and Menat (goddess of fate and time) being the others.

The Satanic Verses is Salman Rushdie's fourth novel, first published in 1988 and inspired in part by the life of Muhammad. As with his previous books, Rushdie used magical realism and relied on contemporary events and people to create his characters. The title refers to the so-called "satanic verses", a group of alleged Quranic verses that allow intercessory prayers to be made to three Pagan Meccan goddesses: Allāt, Uzza, and Manāt.[1] The part of the story that deals with the "satanic verses" was based on accounts from the 1st millennium (AD or AH) historians al-Waqidi and al-Tabari.[1]

In the United Kingdom, the book received positive reviews. It was a 1988 Booker Prize Finalist (losing to Peter Carey's Oscar and Lucinda) and won the 1988 Whitbread Award for novel of the year.[2] The Satanic Verses sparked a major controversy when conservative Muslims accused it of blasphemy and mocking their faith. The outrage among some Muslims resulted in a fatwā calling for Rushdie's death issued by Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, the Supreme Leader of Iran, on 14 February 1989.

This hadith starts in Medina. Mohammad is the prophet of Islam and has been for over ten years. It's A monotheistic creed.

It's hajj season in ancient Arabia and the infidels or pagans, are starting their "godless" rituals. They will circle the Kabba, some of those devoted to the black stone will kiss it, and rub themselves on it,shave their head, sacrifice animals, and walk between two hills near the Kabba, and throw stones at demon's. it most have upset Mohammad to see such godless nonsense. He most have been raging at his people for doing that after he brought the message of the true faith, of the one G*d, worshiped by fellow monotheists, the Christians and Jews.

Military Expeditions led by the Prophet (pbuh) (Al-Maghaazi)

Bukhari :: Book 5 :: Volume 59 :: Hadith 554

Narrated Ibn 'Umar:

Allah's Apostle set out with the intention of performing 'Umra,

Umra .. Mohammad is going to circle the Kabba. But it's full of pagan idols, over three hundred stone idols there. it's full of godless pagan infidels, some naked.

but the infidels of Quraish intervened between him and the Ka'ba,

It was still a pagan temple. pagan's Knew he wanted to destroy all the stone idols. But he had a soft spot in his heart for one. The black stone. The "allah" stone, that his grandfather had named his father (Abdullah) for. His family had been devoted to the black (allah) stone for generations. I wonder if he was going to visit it.

so the Prophet slaughtered his Hadi (i.e. sacrificing animals and shaved his head at Al-Hudaibiya and concluded a peace treaty with them (i.e. the infidels) on condition that he would perform the 'Umra

The pagans of Medina would not let Mohammad preform any godless pagan ceremonies with them.

the next year and that he would not carry arms against them except swords, and would not stay (in Mecca) more than what they would allow. So the Prophet performed the 'Umra in the following year and according to the peace treaty, he entered Mecca,

And preformed all of the godless pagan ceremonies, with the godless pagans in Mekka who would not let him do them, last year.

and when he had stayed there for three days,

performing godless pagan ceremonies

the infidels ordered him to leave, and he left.

but he came back and killed the pagans of Mekka, or converted them to a new faith ?

He got rid of 359 stone idols out of 360, but the black stone "the allah stone" is master of the Kabba. Just like his pagan father Abdullah (slave, servent or devotee of the black stone called allah) would have liked.

from the book The Prophetic Career of Mohammad by Ali dashti

In the monotonous solitude of the arid plain, where the camels strained their necks in search of a thorn or a blade of grass among the stones, what else was there to do but grieve and muse? Misfortune embitters a person and makes him conscious of suffering, especially when he is left to himself with nothing to distract him. It may safely be conjectured that in the course of time this child'sthoughts turned to the social system and found in it some of the sources of his unhappiness. The reason why the other boys of his rank and age led pleasant lives was that their fathers had charge of the Ka'ba. They supplied water, bread, and other requisites to the pilgrims who came to Mecca for the annual ceremonies at the Ka'ba, and they made big profits by selling goods which they imported from Syria dearly and buying produce from pilgrims cheaply. These businesses were the source of their children's well being.

Why did so many tribes sustain the wealth and power of the Qoraysh by coming to the Ka'ba? The reason was that the Ka'ba housed famous idols and contained a black stone which the Arabs held sacred. They thought that walking around the Ka'ba would bring happiness and salvation and that running between the nearby hills of Safa and Marwa, on the tops of which two more idols had been placed, was necessary to make prayers effective. Each group of pilgrims had to shout its entreaties to its idol while circumambulating the Ka'ba and running from Sara to Marwa.

Mohammad's keen eye and intelligence must have prompted him, at the age of eleven or twelve, to start wondering whether any force lay concealed in the black stone and any action could proceed from the lifeless statues.

Could the idol of the Qoraysh, (Mohammad's tribe) at a future date, be the sole deity worshiped in Arabia. Could Mohammad in some way give this tribal deity, a lifeless stone, life. If Mohammad made the stone powerful, could the black stone in return make Mohammad more powerful. It's a match made not in heaven, but near the Kabba ( a pagan temple)

His doubts may well have arisen from a personal experience. It is by no means improbable that in his sorrow and spiritual anguish he had hopefully addressed fervent pleas to the idols and obtained no result.

No results ? (LOL)

I don't know how you look at it. But the results are undeniable the "black stone" is more worshiped now, than the pagans who worshiped it, could ever have imagined.the blood spilled to "appease" the blood lust of this "deity" and it's devotees, could fill one of the great lakes.

This hypothesis is supported by verses in two suras which poured from his mouth thirty years later: "Have no more to do with the filth!" (i.e. the idols; sura 74, al-Modl£ather, verse 5), and "Did not He find you astray and guide you?" (sura 93, od-Doha,verse 7).

The Qoray@!$%#e leaders themselves could scarcely be unaware of the facts. They lived beside the temple and could see that the stone objects did not move or emit grace or grant mercy. The silence of the Qoray@!$%#es and their worship of Lat, Manat, and Ozza could only be due to self-interest:

For the "black stone" to reach it's full potential, Mohammad fed it the blood of those who did not recognize it worthy of worship, or him as it's messenger.

His fellow tribe members had never seen what the "black stone" could do with an unlimited supply of the blood of non-believers.

the black stone only needed to be fed to come to life. With out a constant supply of blood, it will die, or go back to it's original incarnation, as an insignificant, inanimate object, or a powerless stone idol in a godforsaken pagan temple, known as the Kabba.

Always good articles kpr. I wonder what would happen if that pet rock...I mean black stone, ever disappeared? Where would the blood go if there was nothing to feed it to? I suppose they would substitute something so as not to let it be known the "one" was missing. I wonder if this has already happened, in history?

I mean black stone, ever disappeared?

http://www.tutorgig.info/ed/Black_Stone

The Stone has suffered desecrations and significant damage over the centuries. It is said to have been struck and smashed to pieces by a stone fired from a catapult during the Umayyad siege of Mecca in 756. The fragments were rejoined by 'Abd Allah ibn Zubayr using a silver ligament.[11] In January 930 it was stolen by the Qarmatians, who carried the Black Stone away to their base in Hajar (modern Bahrain). According to Ottoman historian Qutb al-Din, writing in 1857, Qarmatian leader Abu Tahir al-Qarmati set the Black Stone up in his own mosque, the Masjid al-Dirar, with the intention of redirecting the Hajj away from Mecca. However, this failed, and pilgrims continued to venerate the spot where the Black Stone had been.[12]

According to historian Al-Juwayni, the Stone was returned twenty-three years later, in 952. The Qarmatians held the Black Stone for ransom, and forced the Abbasids to pay a huge sum for its return. It was wrapped in a sack and thrown into the Friday Mosque of Kufa, accompanied by a note saying "By command we took it, and by command we have brought it back." Its abduction and removal caused further damage, breaking the stone into seven pieces.[8][13][14] Its abductor, Abu Tahir, is said to have met a terrible fate; according to Qutb al-Din, "the filthy Abu Tahir was afflicted with a gangrenous sore, his flesh was eaten away by worms, and he died a most terrible death."[12]

In the 11th century, a man allegedly sent by the Fatimid Caliph Al-Hakim bi-Amr Allah attempted to smash the Black Stone, but was killed on the spot, having caused only slight damage.[12] In 1674, according to Johann Ludwig Burckhardt, someone smeared the Black Stone with excrement so that "every one who kissed it retired with a sullied beard". The Shi'ite Persians were suspected of being responsible and were the target of curses from other Muslims for centuries afterwards, though explorer Sir Richard Francis Burton doubted that they were the culprits; he attributed the act to "some Jew or Greek, who risked his life to gratify a furious bigotry."[15]

And that is it on the stones leaving? Nothing more recent? Can the mending be detected on the stone? Exactly how big is the stone? I think you mentioned once that it is from a meteorite. Has any scientific examination been done on it? Have any other fragments of meteorites been found in the country? Is it the only black stone ever found there? I guess what I'm asking is of the hundreds of stones in the original kabba, was this the only black one or just the biggest black one? And why do you suppose these tribes all had a stone. Are stones rare there? Wouldn't wood have been more precious?

this was going in your article Socrates, but it fits in here as well.

a source, of just how some of the so called revelations from a Deity, to Mohammad, occurred, during intercourse with a child of course. I mean why wouldn't it?

Does anything lead you to believe that an divine being would speak while a child was being sexually assaulted. Does anyone find this disconcerting, troublesome, questionable or inappropriate?

Would it lead a reasonable person to assume, that a legitimate revelation from a divine being would happen under different circumstances

http://www.quranexplorer.com/Hadith/English/Hadith/bukhari/005.057.119.html

Companions of the Prophet

Bukhari :: Book 5 :: Volume 57 :: Hadith 119

Narrated Hisham's father:

The people used to send presents to the Prophet on the day of 'Aisha's turn. 'Aisha said, "My companions (i.e. the other wives of the Prophet) gathered in the house of Um Salama and said, "0 Um Salama! By Allah, the people choose to send presents on the day of 'Aisha's turn and we too, love the good (i.e. presents etc.) as 'Aisha does. You should tell Allah's Apostle to tell the people to send their presents to him wherever he may be, or wherever his turn may be." Um Salama said that to the Prophet and he turned away from her, and when the Prophet returned to her (i.e. Um Salama), she repeated the same, and the Prophet again turned away, and when she told him the same for the third time, the Prophet said, "O Um Salama! Don't trouble me by harming 'Aisha, for by Allah, the Divine Inspiration never came to me while I was under the blanket of any woman amongst you except her."

the child bride.

if anyone has a child, would you be proud if you daughter at the age of nine was sexually active with a fifty something dude who thinks he is talking with god, while abusing her. How would you feel if presents were given, to commemorate the event.

is there any circumstance that this is appropriate? am I out of line for bringing up the subject?

Now the above hadith sounds bad, but this one is outrageous. You see the 'allah' deity concept is "pedophile-ick" in nature. Not really pagan.

allah presents a child of six years old, or younger, to a man Mohammad in his fifties, as a sex object. A six year old child is uncovered, unleashing Mohammad's unnatural desire.

Interpretation of Dreams

Bukhari :: Book 9 :: Volume 87 :: Hadith 140

Narrated 'Aisha:

Allah's Apostle said to me, "You were shown to me twice (in my dream) before I married you. I saw an angel carrying you in a silken piece of cloth, and I said to him, 'Uncover (her),' and behold, it was you. I said (to myself), 'If this is from Allah, then it must happen.'

it sounds like 'allah' be "pimping" for an old dude.

Then you were shown to me, the angel carrying you in a silken piece of cloth, and I said (to him), 'Uncover (her), and behold, it was you. I said (to myself), 'If this is from Allah, then it must happen.' "

or am I reading this wrong?

that loving death is a lofty goal for this Islamic concept of a deity.

The Jewish concept takes a hundred and eighty degree turn from the 'allah' concept.

The deeply held convictions, and aditudes of the devotees of these deities, can not be reconciled using logic, reason, or an objective view of reality.

Pro 8:35

For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD.

Pro 8:36

But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.

I pretty much agree with that, kpr. Most Faiths seem to use inductive reasoning, instead. It's just that with the apparent exception of Islam - Faith, Christianity in particular, uses an 'objective view' of morality, rather than a subjective view of "reality."

Similarly, or perhaps in other words...

Most believe we are still in the process of finding the complete truth, and that complete truth will not be revealed until we die, Islam has the Truth, and thus there is no point in further investigation.

an interesting hadith

The Book of Faith (Kitab Al-Iman)

Muslim :: Book 1 : Hadith 271

It is narrated on the authority of Ibn 'Umar ('Abdullah b. 'Umar) that the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) observed: Verily Islam started as something strange

can't dissagree with that

and it would again revert (to its old position) of being strange just as it started, and it would recede between the two mosques just as the serpent crawls back into its hole.

Islam, in the words of Mohammad is like a snake. May it soon crawl back into it hole

What would be even more interesting is to read the reactions and interpretations of the Imams .

Thanks . The 1st link was especially interesting :

then division and dissent spread among the Muslims and weakness and failure increased gradually, until Islam once again became something strange as it was in the beginning. But this is not because of their small numbers, because at that time they will be many, rather it is because they do not adhere to their religion or cling to the Book

So that might explain why they are so crazed about rooting out infidels from within their own ranks . I say let the "fun" continue ...
