The fall semester

time of empty glass

we run to your classes and intolerable word games

we try alcohol yet, bordom is still the same.

In 1543, on his deathbed, Copernicus refuted the Ptolemaic presumption that the Earth was the center of the heavens. "De revollutionibus orbium " it caused quite a stir. The star-scope was one of many shocking instruments and ideas that got people talking, about religion and philosophy.Never an easy, or comfortable thing for those going against the orthodoxy. The inner net, and newsvine, have raised similar, if less life threatening occurrences. Now what were the inquistion's targets, Jews, Conversos (secret Jews) witches, Protestants and Moors, Blasphemers all.(LOL)

The new, politically correct Inquisition's targets, are Jews, neo Conservatives, republicans and working Americans with questions regarding the scope of the government 's control of the economy .

The little i's, inquisition's list of baned books, or reading material : are many, here is just one. http://frontpagemag.com/2010/01/15/the-anti-semitic-jihad-on-campus-my-night-at-usc/ ( removed by the newsvine community. Torquemada, would be so proud) )

In the classroom students should be free, to swim in a sea of knowledge and wisdom, not be confined to an environment of ignorance, loathing and hate.

But it was much more than books, that they were in fact wishing to suppress,it was ideas,(subvercive ideas) that had to be kept under control. In the new politically correct, multi -cultural world, that the new (kings) or the secular theocracy, the so called "highly educated" or "indoctrinated" elite, wish to create. They also have a dire need to suppress, certain ideas. ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KOSipqCiqI8 )Many books now presently found in libraries, are now once again, considered not "honorable" to read. They posses ideas, not inline, with the thinking needed to "progress" certain fundamentally necessary ideas. Such as, all cultures and religions are, at there hart, one and the same. One no better, or worse, than the other.

How did this heathen, lowly birthed, babbling Irish madman, conceive such ideas ?could it be from dancing and copulating, with Satan ?.....within the realm of possibility

Should his vile, Blasphemous utterances be heard in polite company ? (newsvine)

Just as the Dutch and English,in the low Countries, were engaged in such contrary thought, the swelling masses of the unwashed in America, the native "criolls" are starting to question their masters.

AY DIOS MIO !, how did we ever arrive back here. Perhaps the native Americans were right ? life is like a wheel, and sooner or later it all returns.

it turns around, it spins around, it goes to heaven and comes down to earth, and finds its proper, fixed place.

When Helen Tomas (http://www.commondreams.org/view/2010/01/09-1 ) asked the questions about the Islamic motivation

She asked why Abdulmutallab did what he did.

Thomas: "Why do they want to do us harm? And what is the motivation? We never hear what you find out on why."

Brennan: "Al Qaeda is an organization that is dedicated to murder and wanton slaughter of innocents... They attract individuals like Mr. Abdulmutallab and use them for these types of attacks. He was motivated by a sense of religious sort of drive. Unfortunately, al Qaeda has perverted Islam, and has corrupted the concept of Islam, so that he's (sic) able to attract these individuals. But al Qaeda has the agenda of destruction and death."

Thomas: "And you're saying it's because of religion?"

Brennan: "I'm saying it's because of an al Qaeda organization that used the banner of religion in a very perverse and corrupt way."

Thomas: "Why?"

,correct answer ?

(I have been commanded to fight the people until they testify that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, establish the prayer and pay the Zakah.) This honorable Ayah (9:5) was called the Ayah of the Sword, about which Ad-Dahhak bin Muzahim said, "It abrogated every agreement of peace between the Prophet and any idolator, every treaty, and every term.'' Al-`Awfi said that Ibn `Abbas commented: "No idolator had any more treaty or promise of safety ever since Surah Bara'ah was revealed. The four months, in addition to, all peace treaties conducted before Bara'ah was revealed and announced had ended by the tenth of the month of Rabi` Al-Akhir.''

I have looked through the star scope.I did not see the face of G*d.

I discovered "The devils often in the details".

We,as free Americans, collectively, nail this to the doors of our politicians,we will not be silent any longer. The suppression of free speech on the matter, should not be tolerated in a free and open society.

I just seeded this, and think it's appropriate for this article.Geet Wilders is on trial now,and few remmenber Oriana Fallaci who was brought up on charges in Italy, but died of cancer before trial

A state that puts people on trial for things they’ve said, written, or drawn—as have the Netherlands and Canada to name but two—is no longer a truly democratic country. Or how about the United Kingdom where, for example, a blogger who accurately depicted an Anglican cleric as a Holocaust denier and an associate of Islamist terrorists received a threatening visit by police? In the same country, the police tried to prosecute a television network for showing videos of sermons taken inside mosques, though a court finally ruled that the police (that is, the taxpayers) had to pay damaged to the television network.

That power to curb free speech will be inevitably abused to the detriment of society. The only difference between such a system and the Stalinist USSR is one of intensity, not type.

There is also another reason for not limiting free speech. It is better to know what is being said and thought rather than driving it underground. The number, identity, and arguments made by those who express views of various types should be known and understood by those who seek to counter them.

People who believe in democracy should feel that the only ones who will lose by freedom of speech are those whose arguments can be refuted by truth and logic.

NOT,like the members of the newsvine community who removed this article.surly not !

http://frontpagemag.com/2010/01/15/the-anti-semitic-jihad-on-campus-my-night-at-usc/

and the students who did not want to hear a contrary view

Come to think of it, that’s precisely what most of those in authority insisting on limiting free speech fear. Shutting up one’s enemies is too attractive a temptation to yield to for any reasons whatsoever.

unfortunately, that is so true

if any one does not remmember Oriana Fallaci her last book (or last that I know of) was The Force of Reason

Oriana Fallaci is back with her much-anticipated follow up to The Rage and the Pride, her powerful post-September 11 manifesto. The genesis for The Force of Reason was a postscript entitled Due Anni Dopo (Two Years Later), which was intended as a brief appendix to the thirtieth edition of The Rage and the Pride (2002). Once Ms. Fallaci completed the postscript, she chose to expand it into a book, a continuation of her ideas set in motion in The Rage and the Pride.

In The Force of Reason Fallaci takes aim at the many attacks and death threats she received after the publication of The Rage and the Pride. Ms. Fallaci begins by identifying herself with one Master Cecco, the author of a heretical book who was burnt at the stake during the Inquisition seven centuries ago on account of his beliefs, and proceeds with a rigorous analysis of the burning of Troy and the creation of a Europe that, to her judgment, is no longer her familiar homeland but rather a place best called Eurabia, a soon-to-be colony of Islam (with Italy as its stronghold). Ms. Fallaci explores her ideas in historical, philosophical, moral, and political terms, courageously addressing taboo topics with sharp logic.

About the Author

As a war correspondent Oriana Fallaci has covered the great majority of our era's conflicts: from Vietnam to the Middle East; from the 1965 Hungarian insurrection to the 1970s Latin American upheavals; and from the 1968 massacre in Mexico City, where she was seriously wounded, to the Gulf War. Her books, which include popular novels, have been translated into twenty-one languages.

In its attack the USC Progressive Alliance put out a flyer containing gross fabrications which are central to its campaign of slander against this event and the students hosting it. The flyer’s headline reads: “Hate Muslims? So Do We.”

...This “Hate Muslims? So Do We” poster bore the forged signature of the Young America’s Foundation, which was the group that was sponsoring my speech at George Washington U.

Kpr- this is from the USC visit article that you linked to. I'm curious why this guy blames "the left" for that joke at his expense. Just by coincidence I heard about this story via a newsvine seed talking about Adam Kokesh. And the posters with the "hate muslims? so do we" comment were his work on the GW campus and most likely inspired the USC although I haven't read anything about his involvement with the USC posters. Maybe he should blame libertarians for it too?

    That's what attracted my attention.

Words, words and more words...They all seem to smudge together after a while. What with the definitions of some words changing all the time and others that are included in an ever expanding list of "off-limits" words a person may get swallowed up in the meaning of it all.

Not to mince any words, I much prefer cutting to the chase. I get tired of all the semantics and "talking around" subjects; Kind of nice to see a headline that just makes a statement.

it is a history not taught in schools today

In this entertaining and compelling narrative, Thomas Cahill tells the story of how Europe evolved from the classical age of Rome to the medieval era. Without Ireland, the transition could not have taken place. Not only did Irish monks and scribes maintain the very record of Western civilization -- copying manuscripts of Greek and Latin writers, both pagan and Christian, while libraries and learning on the continent were forever lost -- they brought their uniquely Irish world-view to the task.

As Cahill delightfully illustrates, so much of the liveliness we associate with medieval culture has its roots in Ireland. When the seeds of culture were replanted on the European continent, it was from Ireland that they were germinated.

In the tradition of Barbara Tuchman's A Distant Mirror, How The Irish Saved Civilization reconstructs an era that few know about but which is central to understanding our past and our cultural heritage. But it conveys its knowledge with a winking wit that aptly captures the sensibility of the unsung Irish who relaunched civilization.

A nation does not go to war against a tactic…..a nation goes to war against an ideology…we are against something that is a totalitarian, theocratic, political ideology and it is called Islam…trend analysis is what we called it, stop calling it profiling it’s about identifying the enemy and what they’re doing…the reality of your enemy must become your own…”

And specifically said to “members of the media:

“…stop attacking Jews and Christians, stop being afraid of this enemy, show the same type of vehemence you show against your fellow Americans against them, because in thirty to forty years from now if they’re successful, and they have control of this country there will be no free media, there will be no freedom of speech… you will have been complicit because you were too much of a coward to take a stand…”

I have linked to the full video of the event. I implore you to watch the whole thing, think about what is presented, ask others to watch it. If we do this we are ensuring that the risks these brave people have taken are not in vain and we are arming ourselves with the Truth.

Wafa is awesome and so brave! I thought what she had to say, about the psychological effects of the body scanner, to be very interesting. I have only 1 question though. In the last couple of minutes she told a story about the Saudi King-I couldn't pick up on her words. What was the Fatwah that he wanted lifted?

The great Judge 574295, was unmasked as as member of the nefarious-- Zionist- crusader nexus.and was summarily ellinated, in short order.

may we bow are heads and pray, one more voice crying out for freedom has been silenced

    with every victory,comes defeat.

    the struggle as always, continues.

in case this is removed by the newsvine community.

What is Islam ? is it a .religion..yes, but its so much more. Finding at its very essence as the Arabic translation of the word would suggest, is submission,. Muslims are constantly faced with many, many levels of Islamic "submission".Not all pure and pious acts of submission, are freely given to "Allah", some are directed toward an earth bound mission.Religion is once more used to subjugate, through very personal humiliations, large numbers of humans beings, in pursuit of a "mere mortals" political position. We see this displayed each and every day.Faithful Muslims, often compelled or forced to suspend their use of moral reason and the human concept of free will, needed to make many individually arrived at, life changing decisions. The human "conscience" must submit to Allah's will.Don't worry though this "Allah Dude",he's smart smarter than the average bedouin tribesman of the seventh century, you can be sure.

Islam is the religion of Mohammad, who was born a lowly trader of the Hashimite branch of the prosperous Quraysh tribe.Islam, it was "claimed" was revealed to him, by the angel Gabriel. The Islam, of the first revelations ("Mecca"), was at this time, similar to the other monotheistic faiths, Judaism,Christianity, in Islamic text referred to as "people of the book". His peaceful message,of a singular G*d, found little favour with, the greater majority of Pagan Arabs who, for the most part, ignored his call.Receptive to his word were his family, friends, slaves and retainers, but alas that was all. In the year 613,the verse 26:214 (warn your tribe of their evil ways) was reveled, not putting him in the good graces of the "Mecca" powers that be. After the death of his uncle, and first wife ( who offered a wall of protection, for their disliked brethren),feeling he was wearing out his welcome, Abu Bakr and the prophet hid in a cave,as they felt forced to run.

The town of Medina had invited him to come, in 622,it is called the hijra. It also, marks the start of the Mohammedan era (year one A.H.).In a effort to convert the three major Jewish tribes of Madina, the Banu Qaynuqa, the Banu Qurayza , and Banu nadir), he had the early Muslims pray in the direction of Jerusalem, and yet still the Jews rejected him and a Pagan poetess (Asma bint Marwan) even had the nerve to poke fun at the prophet. This can correctly be called the era of, "the Prophet's dead poets society, Islamic year one.

Now, upon arrival in the new town the prophet with his followers found they were short on useful skills, as Medina was an agricultural community, interspersed with skilled craftsmen. The unfortunate question of all leaders of a community, are sooner or later faced with. How to support, our own.Well the people of Mecca were quite unkind,it must have been said. let us make them pay for their rejection of the word of Allah, surely those who "disobey" the will of the almighty, are not worthy of their possessions, nor their miserable lives.Conveniently, by the will of "Allah" Mohammad produced the verse's, the first Muslims were longing to hear. Come forth and fight in the path of Allah,if you are victorious, the booty we share.Die in battle, and a sexually charged Paradise awaits, filled with Allah's glories, quite the opposite of the desert that you hate..The world is soon introduced to the frightening concept, of Islamic Jihad.or it's operational application was now allowed, if not encouraged

robbery, extortion, kidnapping, slavery...these were the fruits of the Jihad. This new philosophy greatly swelled the ranks of the Muslims. On arrival, in Medina the Muslims numbers were small, but now with "Booty" and rapeallowed, the "Ummah" grew in size, and it got loud."Grievance mongering",with neighbours, surprisingly caused the Muslims to grow and to prosper. Justified by "Allah", the wealth of infidels, was soon to be spread and the cry "jihad fi sabilillah" gained it's well earned and proper renowned .First of the Jewish tribes to feel the wrath, of the prophet were the Banu Qaynuqa, skilled goldsmiths, numbering about 1500 strong, men and women and children. the second were the Banu Qurayza, the banu Nadir were banished. This new philosophy of Jihad was ominous, it generated much animosity, and feelings of open dislike, for their former friend.Conspiring co-horts, felt this did not bode well, the prophet's holy life, may fall under an evil Pagans, fatal spell.

A "Prophet"in the habit of practicing ,banditry, butchery, and willfully breaking the well known and easily understood "set rules of a parent society" in a most unpleasant way. Will most often find, that the result will be, a violent reaction from said "parent society" .Stealing of trade goods, taking of hostages, ransoming of said hostages, violent assaults. Even in seventh century Arabia, it may make you, not look so GOOD.

guard your life, for Mecca still has great might. This, can now be called, a very a wise opinion, as the Pagans from Mecca planed to stop the raiding, one way or another. The caravans were for Mecca's population, their life's blood, it was how they survived in a harsh environment..Leading to the first major semi-organised resistance at the Battle of badr in, 624 or, (A.H.year two), it did not go as well as expected for the Pagan Arabs. The Battle of badrwas a turning-point in Islamic history. A out numbered group of Muslims had defeated a superior number of unbelievers, it's said by "Allah's" own divine intervention.Soon followed up with the Battle of Uhud,in 625, the battle of the trench, in 627. This great victory surely most have brought joy to the prophet, and perhaps nothing more than a smile to the eye, his lovely young "child bride ".

To forever stop the senseless violence, Mohammad presented, the treaty of Hudaybiyya. This is the turning point in time. When nothing more than, wishful thinking, assuredly led mankind not to see,the trouble begun.Signed a paper or shook a hand, why would any sane man take the word of that, truly dangerous, demented delusional "prophet" ?

I sign-off here,as it was this document that gave Islam it's well known religion of "Peace" moniker. And Islam nor any Muslims practicing their faith, were ever again aggressive, or intolerant. and we all lived happily ever after, together one people living in G*d's loving warm embrace..Jews and Christians were never ordered too, flee from Muslim lands and the kuffar never need worry about sharia law.

if this were Sicily a few hundred years later, this "Islam" thing. It would be called something else, cause once you join "this thing" of the prophet's, you can never get out

We still have, our free and tolerant WESTERN secular society, last I checked anyways,it's still here.

So I can write this, cant I ?

Remember, it was God who granted you the right to reason, and it's always and without fail man who commits treason, when he attempts to take that a way

I have had things just disappear no explanationno remarks. And no response by the NV. Don't misunderstand I am a no body, and of no importance. But is this the vine, a hacker or does some Saudi have controlling interest in the parent organization. I see the blackberry is no longer welcome by the Saudis. Reminds me of the old Mao and Russian crap. Over the years I have watched the Freedoms in America get chipped away to dust. We are no longer a Republic, there is no justice in our laws and I cringe every time I hear an A$$O legislatorand others in power call is a Democracy. And those who have much to loose are oblivious.
